🎙️ EP 333 You Are Still Allowed to Begin, Rediscovering Your Purpose After Motherhood!

(Solo episode with Ildiko Ferenczi)

ENTREPRENEUR PARENTS PODCAST

Hosted by Dan Caldwell and Ildiko Ferenczi

Motherhood changes many things, but it doesn't erase the gifts, dreams, or calling God placed inside you. In this heartfelt solo episode, Ildiko Ferenczi speaks to every mother who has spent years pouring into her family while quietly wondering if there's still room for her own voice, creativity, business idea, or God-given purpose.

Whether you've been carrying a dream for months or for many years, this episode is an invitation to stop waiting until you feel completely ready. Ildiko shares why small beginnings matter, how to move past fear and guilt, and why pursuing your calling doesn't take away from your family—it can become one of the greatest examples of courage your children will ever witness.

Because sometimes the first step isn't building the entire dream. It's simply deciding to stop hiding the first piece.

🌱 In This Episode, You'll Discover

  • How to rediscover your purpose after becoming a mother
  • Why it's never too late to begin again
  • How to overcome the fear of sharing your work with the world
  • Why pursuing your calling isn't selfish
  • What to do when friends or family don't support your dream
  • How small, imperfect steps build lasting confidence
  • Why your children learn courage by watching yours

📖 A Biblical Reminder

God doesn't ask us to have the entire path figured out before we begin. Throughout Scripture, He calls ordinary people to take faithful steps of obedience, trusting Him with what comes next. Often, our calling unfolds one step at a time, not all at once.

💬 Journal & Reflection

Take a few quiet moments to reflect:

  • What dream or idea have I continued to carry, even through the busiest seasons of motherhood?
  • What fear keeps speaking louder than my faith?
  • What is one small step I can take this week?
  • What will my children learn by watching me honor the gifts God has given me?

❤️ Final Encouragement

If you've been waiting for permission to begin again, let this be your reminder:

You don't need a perfect plan, a polished brand, or complete confidence before taking your first step. Sometimes courage looks like a tired mom propping her phone against a coffee cup and deciding that what God placed inside her is worth sharing.

Your beginning may feel small, but small beginnings are often where God does His greatest work.

Your children don't need to see a fearless mother. They need to see a faithful one, someone willing to trust God enough to take the next step, even before she knows exactly where the path will lead.

So begin where you are. Use what you have. Trust God with the rest.

Because motherhood didn't erase your identity.

Sacrifice didn't cancel your calling.

You are still allowed to begin.

[00:00:00] She closes the last bedroom door softly. She could still see a little strip of light that glows beneath it. She just spot her daughter that new nightlight that she wanted so badly. And down the hall, the house begins to settle. The final cup of water had been delivered. The last blanket had been pulled back into place.

[00:00:30] And for the first time all day, no one is calling her name. She stands in the quiet for a moment. And I wouldn't say it's because there's nothing left to do. There's plenty. But this is the first moment of the day that feels like, like it might belong to her.

[00:00:54] She walks into the kitchen and sits down. There's an idea that she's been carrying for months, maybe longer. She has thought about it while folding the little clothes, the little onesies.

[00:01:16] She has written pieces of it in her phone while waiting in the car. She has whispered it to herself late at night. Then talked herself out of it by the morning. But tonight she props her phone against a coffee cup and presses record.

[00:01:37] At first she, she doesn't really know where to look. She's excited and she starts talking. Stops and deletes it.

[00:01:52] She tries again. This time she makes it nine seconds. Nine seconds of something she knows. Something she made. Something honest from her life. Something that sounds like her.

[00:02:09] She watches it back. Once. Then again. Then the fifth time. Her hands are shaking. Her thumb moves toward post. Then pulls away. Because sharing something you create can feel deeply personal when you've spent years making sure everyone else had what they needed.

[00:02:42] Thought runs through her mind. What if they laugh? What if nobody cares? What if the people closest to her see it and say nothing? What if they try to talk her out of it? What if this part of her has been quiet for so long that the world no longer has room for it? What if they try to talk her out of it? She almost deletes it.

[00:03:09] She almost deletes it. But then she remembers how many times she's told her children to be brave. She remembers telling them that God gave them gifts for a reason. She remembers encouraging them to try before they felt completely ready.

[00:03:29] And sitting all alone at that kitchen table, she realizes that they may one day learn courage by watching what she does with hers. She remembers. So she takes a breath. And before fear can answer for her again, she presses post. Nothing dramatic happens. The room doesn't change. There's no poof. It's not magic.

[00:04:00] The world doesn't suddenly discover her. Her phone rests quietly against the same coffee cup. But something inside her feels different. Because to everyone else, it may only be a nine-second video. But to her, it's proof that the woman beneath all responsibility is still there.

[00:04:28] It's the first small declaration that motherhood did not erase her voice. Sacrifice did not cancel her calling. And beginning again is still allowed. Tonight, she didn't build the whole thing. She simply stopped hiding the first piece.

[00:04:53] And sometimes, that is how a woman begins to find her way back to what God placed inside her. Get comfortable. Grab the person that you love. Grab your favorite healthy snack. If this is your time, keep it to yourself. Enjoy this time with me. And let's have another beautiful conversation that I know you're going to love. Let's go.

[00:05:22] Oh, that's better. Right, babe? She founded an architectural concrete company. He founded a $100 million clothing company. She took the world by storm as a social media star.

[00:05:50] He took the world by storm as a famous serial entrepreneur. Together, we started a business. And had babies. Now, we're figuring out the best ways to do both. Join us as we learn from other entrepreneurs going through the same life struggles. As they share their life hacks about success, love, kids. And everything in between. Hello, my friend. And welcome back to Becoming Unshakeable, the Legacy Conversations bonus series brought to you by the Entrepreneur Parent Podcast,

[00:06:20] a community of strong families building lives of faith, courage, purpose, and lasting legacy. I'm your host, Ildiko Ferenczi. Over the last few conversations, we have been looking honestly at the different ways entrepreneur families are built. And these are just a few examples. There's so many more. There's so many more.

[00:06:49] There truly is. But listen, they don't all look the same. Sometimes the one person builds publicly, while another carries more of the family behind the scenes. Sometimes husbands and wives, they build side by side. That's my favorite. I was listening to this clip of Leila Harmozy.

[00:07:18] And she was being interviewed. And she said she was dating someone that actually, they asked her to be more quiet, to not say as much. And it was just, it was almost shocking, because that's one of her blessings, the way she speaks, the way she speaks up, the way she shares.

[00:07:47] And someone had tried to, I guess, muzzle her, is how you could look at it, how it would feel. And imagine if she listened. She went on another date, and she met Alex.

[00:08:04] And this man saw the blessings within her, the beautiful voice that she carried, the strength, the wisdom, and the eagerness to learn and grow. And she realized at that moment that she wanted a partner, that she wanted to build together with someone. That's what I'm hungry for. That's what I love.

[00:08:32] And I love that for women. I love that they know what they want. And to express that, I was very clear on that in the beginning of my relationship. So this is how I grew up. I grew up building with my family. I grew up building with my partner. I built so many great things in my life, and that's what I love.

[00:08:59] We're always planning to do it with David, my brother, when we grew up. Unfortunately, he's not with us, but, I mean, that excites me. So anyway, that's one example as I track off and glide back into the topic of today. And sometimes, as I was saying, husbands and wives, they build side by side. That's not for everyone.

[00:09:27] And sometimes it is. And sometimes a mother has spent years supporting the family's present season while something inside her has been quietly waiting. Not because she doesn't love being a mother. Because she prayed for this. She prayed to be a mother. It's the greatest blessing of all.

[00:09:57] She's not ungrateful for her family. And it's not because she wants to compete with anybody or anything out there. There's simply something inside her. She was born with a gift, a story, an idea, a calling she may not completely understand yet.

[00:10:24] But today's conversation is for the mother who can feel something beginning to move inside her, but is still trying to find the courage to let anyone see it. I know this is resonating with many people that were talking about this in the community. And I love this for you. Because motherhood, it changes a woman. It changes how she spends her time.

[00:10:55] It changes what she worries about. And it changes how she sees the world. But motherhood does not erase everything God placed inside her before the children arrived. She may have stepped away from a career. Of course, many of us have to lay things down. I know I have.

[00:11:21] I've had to lay things down, sacrifice for the blessing of my children. She may have closed a business, postponed an education, or stopped creating because her family needed her fully.

[00:11:38] She may have used what she saved, all her earnings to help carry the household through difficult seasons or difficult season. She may have spent it all trying to help out, keep everybody afloat.

[00:12:00] She most likely did all of that willingly with love, with great sacrifice. And calling can exist inside the same woman. There's a calling.

[00:12:17] She could be very grateful for the life she has and still feel maybe a spark or maybe even sometimes an ache of something she has not yet been able to begin to create. Maybe she always imagined that she and her spouse would build something together.

[00:12:45] Maybe that's even what she wanted. She thought her ideas and gifts would have a place beside his. But the years passed. The children needed her. The family rhythm formed around other priorities. And somehow the invitation to build side by side, it never came.

[00:13:13] That disappointment is real. But perhaps she does not have to keep waiting for someone else to recognize that she has greatness to invite her, to put her under the wing, their wing, and guide her.

[00:13:32] Maybe it doesn't take someone else to recognize that what God placed inside her before she begins honoring herself, and being able to change the world in some way. Maybe beginning does not require a perfect plan. Maybe it begins with the phone that's already in her hand.

[00:14:03] One honest sentence. One imperfect video. The world's looking for that right now, friends. The imperfect video. The imperfect video. With all that AI. All that generated video. Perfect videos. Right? They're looking for the imperfect video. Don't be fooled.

[00:14:31] One small act of courage that says, I'm still here. I'm still here. Sometimes we imagine that beginning has to look impressive. It's got to be perfect. We think we need a perfect logo. The finished website. Professional.

[00:15:01] Professional. I'm laughing. I can barely say it. The photographs. Everything has to be professional. Or you have to have hundreds of followers. Thousands even. That's how you have to start. That's what some of us may believe. But most meaningful things do not begin that way.

[00:15:32] They don't. They begin quietly. They begin while the children are sleeping. They begin with a phone balanced against a coffee cup. They begin with someone writing in the notes. Or not even a physical notepad. But the notes app on your phone.

[00:15:59] While waiting in the school pickup line. Before going into the grocery store. Late at night. Early in the morning. Whenever you find a moment. You write the note. They begin with a woman whispering an idea into her phone. Because she does not want to forget it. Before morning. When everything gets busy. The first thing she creates may not make money.

[00:16:28] And that's okay. They may not even receive much attention. Her first video may get three views. Perhaps 11. And she may know the names of all of them. All of the views. She may know eight names of the views.

[00:16:57] But the first post is not only about the post. It's evidence. Evidence that she did something with the idea. Instead of continuing to bury it. Evidence that fear did not make the decision for her that day. Evidence that the woman who has spent years helping everyone else grow.

[00:17:28] Is finally giving herself permission to grow too. You know, years ago before I met Dan. And before I became a mother. Before my dreams came true. Of becoming a mother to beautiful, beautiful, beautiful babies. I founded an architectural concrete company. And when I was able to.

[00:17:54] I would set aside chunks of five or ten thousand dollars. And I would look for. I'd focus on single mothers. Or women starting something. Who were trying to. Who were trying to create something. Single mothers were my focus. Sometimes it was a film. Sometimes it was a business.

[00:18:23] Or a project they had. Had placed on GoFundMe. Or one of those sites. And many times I gave anonymously. I didn't. I didn't need them to know my name. I was simply grateful. That I could help make the road. A little lighter for another woman. And I. I think part of the reason. This mattered so much to me. Was. Was my own mother.

[00:18:54] My mother was successful. But. Success did not mean that life was easy for her. She did well. But. She worked incredibly hard. Because. Because she had to. She rarely received the kind of break. That might. Have. Allowed her body to rest.

[00:19:23] And I know this isn't just single mothers. Because there's a lot of. Especially right now. We're seeing it bubble up in the. In social media. And around the world. How exhausted mothers are. So. Those are the. Those are the people that I would hunt for. And. And. And I watched what. That. Unrelenting.

[00:19:52] Pressure did to her health. I would never wish that kind of weight upon anyone. One. So. When I saw a single mother trying to build something. Trying to create something that might change the future for her family. I thought about what that support might. Might have meant. To my own mother.

[00:20:20] Maybe the woman I helped would never know who gave it to her. And. That's okay. That's okay. The point wasn't for her to remember anyone's name. The point was for her to feel even for a moment. Someone saw me trying. Someone believed this was worth helping. I was. I was worth helping. And I remain deeply.

[00:20:50] Deeply grateful. That God placed me in a position where I could do that for others. Not everyone can. Can give someone thousands of dollars. That's not the lesson. The lesson is that we should not underestimate what encouragement can do. When it reaches someone at that exact moment.

[00:21:17] They are wondering whether, whether to quit. Gosh, that gives me goosebumps. Guys out there. I know that this is, this is going to tap on someone's shoulder listening. That's thinking of quitting or not trying. Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that because you were chosen. Okay. You have a special God-given destiny.

[00:21:48] You are fearfully and wonderfully made. And you have gifts that nobody else has. Okay. Don't quit. Don't quit. I want to, I definitely want to be so clear about that. Maybe, maybe a mother in your life has started sharing videos. Maybe, maybe she opened a small shop.

[00:22:12] Maybe she began writing, recording, designing, or, or creating something she, she hopes will eventually provide a little income. You may see one post. You may see one post. It may be sporadic because she's busy. Okay. Her days are full. Just trying when she can. But you do not see everything that happened.

[00:22:43] You don't see everything before she shared it. That's what I want to say. You don't see how many times she recorded it. You don't know whether someone at home believes in what she's doing or even supports her.

[00:23:02] You don't know whether she's building with encouragement surrounding her or whether she's gathering every ounce of courage to go at it alone. That's why I can see someone trying out there.

[00:23:33] Not only that, but I find, I find myself in this too, even though, like, even though you could be building with someone, but you may be carrying it yourself for a moment. That's why the way that we respond matters when we see something, when we witness something that someone's creating.

[00:24:00] Sometimes we scroll past the person we know because we assume that it's so familiar. It's so familiar. Oh my gosh. Or maybe it's cringely. Oh my gosh. I can't believe that they're actually doing this. How cringe.

[00:24:18] And then we just scroll past and we like the celebrity that has millions and millions of likes and doing the same thing, really. But what is it that's in us that refuses to share? What is that? Do we think that our one share won't matter?

[00:24:48] You think that our, our one like, our one comment, the share with our audience won't matter? Or our one purchase will not change anything? Our one kind, our one kind comment is too small to make a difference.

[00:25:12] But to the woman who nearly deleted what she created, your support, our support may be the reason she tries again tomorrow. Perhaps that little money she earns with, it, it, it, it may help, it may help buy groceries. It may help keep the, the lights on this time. May help the water run.

[00:25:41] You don't know what someone's going through. Perhaps it buys something that the children desperately need. Or perhaps it allows her to order a coffee or, or a drink. Have her hair done or enjoy one small thing for herself without feeling that she's taken something away from the table, from the family.

[00:26:11] That is not, that is not frivolous. That is not always. Sometimes it is dignity. Sometimes it is, it is the quiet joy, the joy, God gave us joy, joy, joy of realizing I created something valuable. My voice has a purpose.

[00:26:39] And what God placed inside me may be the very thing someone else needs. Even if it's just one person. The internet has made it very easy to measure one another. To misunderstand someone's beginning. To criticize what another woman had to gather tremendous courage to share.

[00:27:08] But we can choose. We. In this community. Those of you listening right now. We can choose something different. We can become women who notice, who notice another mother trying and decide to help her keep going. Not because everything she creates is magnificent or, or perfect. That's not what I'm saying.

[00:27:40] And I'm not saying it because we're responsible for, for building her entire future. But I, I'm telling you this. I'm suggesting this because encouragement costs us very little. If nothing at all. But seriously though, friends, it may reach her. At a moment when discouragement has already cost her a great deal.

[00:28:12] If she has a buy me a coffee page. And you are able. Buy her a coffee. I do that. When I can. If she creates something you genuinely value. Even just a little bit. Share it. Speak her name kindly.

[00:28:40] In a room she has not entered yet. Ladies, we have to be that. I teach my children. If someone. Has the courage to talk down. About someone that is not in the room. To defend themselves. We don't sit with people like that. We will not sit with people like that.

[00:29:10] And not only that, but we will defend them. When they are not in the room. And if you cannot give financially. Remind her that. Beginning small does not mean. That. It doesn't mean beginning without value. There's value to that. That.

[00:29:38] It's very, very beautiful. Very precious. Everyone started. At the bottom. Everyone started from somewhere. That was difficult. I promise you that. Friends, there are already enough voices telling women. That they're too late. Especially as a mother. Oh my goodness. You're a mother now. It's too late now.

[00:30:06] And you're too experienced now. You're too ordinary. Being told we're too invisible. Can we please promise each other? That we will not become another one of those voices. Let us become women who say. I see what you're trying to build. Keep going. Keep going. You're doing great.

[00:30:37] Can we be the voices of encouragement? That's what we need to be. In 1 Thessalonians 5, verse 11. We're told. Therefore, encourage one another. And build one another up. As indeed you do. I love that scripture does not only tell us.

[00:31:04] To avoid tearing one another down. It calls us to actively build one another up. That requires us to notice. To pay attention. To recognize when someone is trying to stand again. Sometimes we ask God to encourage us. And his encouragement arrives through another person.

[00:31:32] And a lot of people. They talk about this. The people closest to me. Aren't the ones cheering me on. They're not the ones sharing. It's strangers. So that's the miracle. It happens through the friend. Who we met online. That we barely know. Who shares our work. Right? Through the stranger. Who leaves a kind message.

[00:32:01] Through the person. Who supports something. Before it looked successful. What feels small in your hands. May become an answer. To someone else's prayer. And perhaps that is part of how. How God builds community. Not by making one person carry everything alone. There's so many people. So many mothers.

[00:32:31] Mothers especially. That feel so alone. They don't feel seen. But by allowing us to become part of one. Of one another's encouragement. Gosh. Imagine. Just imagine what that does to someone. I'm smiling. Because. I mean many of the people that support me. I don't even know them.

[00:33:00] Many of you I haven't met. In real life. But here you are. You're listening. Every single. Week. It makes me emotional. Because. I shared this in another episode. Someone said how. Why are you doing the podcast? Why are you doing that? It's so silly. Nobody cares. Nobody's gonna listen. And then. As I said. After a million downloads. That's not easy to do.

[00:33:31] Then people are asking. How'd you do it? How'd you do it? How'd you do it? How'd you do it? How'd you do it? I kept showing up. Even when I felt ridiculous. That's what happened my friend. I just kept showing up. Even when nobody shared. Nobody I knew. Shared. I watch. I watch them watch. But they don't share. So. That silly little thing. Got a million downloads. At one point.

[00:34:02] Finally happened. Just a mom. It makes me laugh. It makes me sad. So I gotta make a joke. But. There you go. Keep going. Keep. Going. Send me. The video. I'll share it. I promise. Okay. Come on. Do not give up. If you are the mother. Sitting with an idea.

[00:34:33] The one who keeps saying. Maybe later. I've been there. Okay. I'm guilty too. I want to speak directly to you. You don't need to know exactly. What this will become. Before you begin. I had no idea. A part of me believed. What if they're. What if they're right? What if nobody does listen? What if it is silly? Everybody I know is laughing. Everybody you know. Not.

[00:35:02] They actually said it to my husband. But when they talk. Terribly to my husband. It hurts me. Everybody that knows you is laughing. This is ridiculous. I can't believe you guys are doing this. That's what it was. You're embarrassing us. Oh. It hurt. And a part of me questioned. What if it's true?

[00:35:34] A million downloads later. God said it was a lie. You don't need to know exactly. What. What. What's going to happen before. Before you begin. Let me tell you. I've fallen flat on my face. In many things in my life. So if you fall flat on your face. Who cares? Keep going. Keep going. You don't need everyone around you.

[00:36:03] To understand it. You don't need a large audience. To prove that it matters. Sometimes it's the one or two. Three strangers clapping. I remember. There was this thing called Periscope. It's so funny. I almost forgot about it. And. I was.

[00:36:32] I was dating my husband. We were long distance. And. And I would jump on this thing every day. I would just share personal stories. I'd cook with them in my kitchen. And. I started getting hundreds of thousands of. Of followers. And. You. It was weird because you had to get. On the most. Loved. Like you had to be. You were rated by becoming the most loved.

[00:37:02] Broadcaster. So what your audience had to do. Was tap hearts. They would tap. As fast as they could. They would tap hearts. I didn't know one person. That tapped the hearts. It was ridiculous. My mom took a snapshot of it. She goes. I can't believe it. They're watching your silly. Your silly videos. It's so good. It's so good. I was. I was. I was shopping for my mom one night. Getting her all kinds of goodies.

[00:37:32] And. A lady. Recognized me. From entertainment tonight. I don't. I didn't watch that at that time. But. I don't know what she did on the show. But she's like. Oh my gosh. You're that. Broadcaster. I was like. Oh my goodness. It was making an impact. But. The reason I'm sharing this. Is because. I just did it. It was silly. But. It impacted people.

[00:38:02] And. I was. On that. Top list. Which was apparently. Really hard to get to. People were sitting there. Tapping. They suggested. That I leave it on all night. While I slept. There was. There was. A couple articles. There was a few articles. About. Me. And how. The audience would tap. While I slept. They were strangers.

[00:38:30] So do not underestimate the love. Of strangers. If they see themselves in your story. I wasn't selling anything. I don't. I didn't. I don't know how to. Do a course. I don't know how to do any of that stuff. I don't. I didn't know how to monetize. I wish I did. That was the silly thing. Because when it all went away. Guess what? Guess who didn't get the. Guess who didn't get the email list. Me.

[00:39:00] I didn't get the email list. Lesson learned. Okay. So. So. Ding dong. There you go. I didn't get. I didn't get the email list. That's me. I admit it. Anyway. So. But the point is. The point is. I had a bunch of strangers. That I. I created this. Connection with. And many of them started. Businesses. Many of them started different things.

[00:39:30] I didn't sell a thing. But. But it was cool. It was cool to see. That. People that you don't even know. Will support you. That will. Punch the hearts. Tap. Keep tapping. Encourage each other. To stay awake. While I slept. To keep tapping. To keep me on the list. Wild. Wild. Do not keep your idea. To yourself. And. It doesn't have to.

[00:39:59] I'm not. I'm not steady. On social media. But I show up here. I show up for my people here. My beautiful. Community of. Of. Of parents. Of mothers. Of people thinking about having children. I show up. I'm here. And I love you guys. And I want to support you. Before you reach for that coffee. Consider this. What if the energy boost you're looking for. Isn't. In your cup. But in your cells.

[00:40:29] I challenge you to swap your morning coffee. For shilajit. By symbiotica. And here's what can happen. No crash. No jitters. Just clean. Sustained energy. Plus mental clarity. And trace minerals. That our bodies actually need. That are actually starving for. To be honest. This isn't just a supplement. It's an ancient adaptogen.

[00:40:57] Sourced from the Himalayas. That supports. Mycochondrial function. Stamina. And overall vitality. Your coffee never did that. Okay. Let's just be honest. Try it for a week. And tell me your body doesn't thank you. Symbiotica's. Shilajit. Is next level wellness. And honestly. You may never go back to drinking coffee. Click the link below. Down in the bio. And get your shilajit today.

[00:41:27] Your children are not losing their mother. Because she creates something. I bring my children with me. I make them sit in on the meetings. I make them sit in on the calls. And that's not for everyone. You don't have to do that. That's just how I do it in my house. That's how I grew up. And I saw the value in that. So that's something I do. But that's not for everyone. They're not going to lose their mother.

[00:41:56] Because she's creating something. They may be watching their mother become brave. And if their mother is brave. You'll be brave. In our family we build together. They may be learning that. That gifts are meant to be stewarded. They may one day remember sitting beside you.

[00:42:26] In your lap. While you wrote. My littlest one. She was nursing. While I would interview. My guests on the podcast with my husband. It was my husband. He felt weird about it. He's like. I said. I have no choice. This is a great interview. And I'm not going to leave. And sit in a corner and nurse. No.

[00:42:56] I'm going to stay here. And I'm going to interview. Thank you very much. Have a nice day. Your babies might watch you record. Or help you package the first thing that someone purchased from you. I remember Daniel. Little Daniel. My husband and I. We had this other thing.

[00:43:26] He packaged a collectible. Helped us. Helped us do it. Send it off. He was so excited. They may witness the beginning of something that becomes part of their legacy. Just like this. My children. They're cheering. They're always. I'm getting emotional.

[00:43:56] They're always cheering me on. They're always cheering me on. And they love it. Because they were part of the whole thing. They're always the part of the building. They're part of the whole dang thing. All right? So just begin honestly. Be responsible to yourself.

[00:44:22] Begin in a way that honors the family you love. Begin. Pick up the phone. Write the first sentence. Share the thing that has been sitting quietly on your heart. It doesn't have to be extraordinary today. And I know that we. Many perfectionists. And that's just throw it out the window. Just begin.

[00:44:51] The only thing it has to be is true. The only thing it has to be is true. A mother can give everything to her family. And still have something meaningful inside her. Waiting to be built. Her desire to create does not make her less devoted.

[00:45:11] Her hope and her wish to earn something does not make her selfish. And her beginning does not need to be large before it deserves respect. The lesson is not that every mother must start a business.

[00:45:37] The lesson is that we should not dismiss what begins quietly inside her. I was just watching Nira. Nira. I hope I honored her name correctly. But she was called a trad wife. And she really wanted to correct that very quickly. Saying no, I was building. I was building. I was building a business.

[00:46:04] My husband was helping me by my side. We were building together. He was helping with the children. And he was helping. And he was building. And I was building. And I love building. Or I can't remember what she said. Maybe she didn't say I love building. But she just wanted to correct that. She was not what people perceived her to be. That she was building. She was building a business.

[00:46:31] And Ballerina Farms. I believe it was the same type of interview for her too. So then there's nothing wrong with that. You can build. If you want to. You may not want to. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You don't have to. But you can paint art if you want. If there's something in your heart that you feel you were blessed with.

[00:47:01] All I'm saying is don't block it out. Don't pretend that it doesn't live there. Whatever it is. Maybe you love styling people. Maybe you see someone. You see another mother. And you look at her and you say. Gosh just with three or four little tweaks. If I did this to her hair. If this is the type of clothing that she wore.

[00:47:26] I could help her feel her very best each day. It doesn't have to be recording anything. But you may want to record that. You may want to record that journey. That transformation. I don't know what it is. But you do. We have a choice. We have a choice as the people around others. Right?

[00:47:58] We have a choice to. I guess maybe a lesson. The lesson is that we should not dismiss what begins quietly inside someone. And when we see other women gathering the courage to try.

[00:48:28] We can scroll past. We have a decision or a choice. It's a choice. We can scroll past. We can criticize and make fun. I can't believe you did that. It's so embarrassing. We can criticize. Or we can become part of the reason she keeps going. Let's be that person.

[00:48:58] Let's be her. Five star. Kind review. Like. Share. Kind comment. Share it in the story. Let's take a moment. Grab your journals and something to write with. Take these questions somewhere. Well, I guess you're somewhere quiet, right? Be somewhat quiet.

[00:49:30] And let's investigate. Let's think about this. What has been sitting on my heart that I keep postponing because I'm afraid to begin imperfectly?

[00:49:47] Am I waiting for someone else's permission or recognition before honoring what God placed inside me? I know my big mistake was when we started this podcast. We were very committed.

[00:50:14] And then there was a moment where my husband suggested we took a pause. It broke my heart. It broke my heart because in my prayers, well, not my prayers, but when we prayed together, this is what we came up with. We cried about it. We had the aha moment.

[00:50:43] We felt all the feels and we said, we have to do this. We were called to do this. We have to do this. And money was tight and we had to do some things. I make some sacrifices. He said, we're going to have to stop this. I don't have time to do it right now. I remember being so broken about it. I felt so broken. I felt so low.

[00:51:10] And it was a long pause. I didn't stop writing the scripts. I didn't stop coming up with the ideas. I didn't stop reaching out. But we just didn't, we didn't do it. And then finally we, we got back to it. And then again, things got hard. Life happened. But guess what? Guess what?

[00:51:39] I heard. Do not quit. You have to do it yourself. Until he can come back. I prayed about it again. Same thing. You're going to have to do it. I can't. I can't do it by myself.

[00:52:08] I can't do it by myself. I can't. I need to, I need to bounce off of someone. I need to bounce off of someone. The producers. No, but with your audience and, and you know, you have the bigger audience. The most of the people that are listening are your audience. You should do it. I think you can really build it. Well, no. Why don't I just do the interviews?

[00:52:36] Well, because the interviews didn't go that well. I think that you guys, they will, they said that we needed to build the brand ourselves. So they will, they liked the way that we would bounce off of each other. So we did that. And then when that had to stop, I was like, no, I can't do it alone.

[00:52:59] But then I trusted and I stepped into the really, it was very, very, very uncomfortable. Okay. Let me just say that. I don't even, I don't even really talk on social media. That's easier because it's just a few seconds. And then I have to sit on this mic and be recorded for, for 30 minutes. What?

[00:53:29] No way. No way. But you know what? I did it. I did it. And my hands were shaking. I don't know if my voice was shaking. It felt like it. I was trained. I was trained. Voice training, all the things. I was scared. I was scared.

[00:53:57] And the people closest to me, they didn't share. But I had other people share. So anyway, are you waiting for someone else's permission or recognition before honoring what God placed inside me or inside you? Inside you.

[00:54:23] Is there a mother in my life who is quietly creating something I could genuinely encourage or support? Is there? Be honest, friend. If you're listening, are you sharing their stuff? It's so easy. There's a button on anything you listen. There's a button on podcast.

[00:54:53] You could copy the link. You could put it in your story. You could, you could copy their story. Share it on yours. You could share their, their post. You share it on your story. You share it with all the people that, that love you. Maybe, maybe you have everyone that's close to you that shares. Maybe you're one of the lucky ones.

[00:55:22] And then you share someone else's God-given destiny. God-given calling. How beautiful would that be? And the other question, what is one small faithful step I can take this week? What is that thing that you're hiding?

[00:55:51] What is that thing you keep deleting? What is that thing you keep recording and don't post? What is that thing you're building and not sharing? Think about it. Be brave. Be brave for the little ones. I love you. You got this. Let's come together in prayer. Two or more. Let's support each other. Two or more.

[00:56:21] Let's come together in prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for every mother listening today. Every father listening today. Thank you for everything that she carries, that he carries. For every gift you have placed inside of them. Remind our mothers that motherhood did not erase her calling.

[00:56:47] Give our mothers wisdom to recognize what belongs in this season. Encourage to take the next faithful step. Protect her from comparison. Protect her from voices that make her beginning feel foolish or insignificant. Surround her with people who encourage what is good. Who speak life over her efforts.

[00:57:14] And who help her remember that she does not have to become someone else to offer something meaningful. Teach us to build one another up. Help. Make us generous with our encouragement. Help us notice the woman who is trying. And when we are able, help make her road a little lighter.

[00:57:40] May everything she carries and everything that she creates and everything that she builds honor you. Serve her family and become part of a beautiful legacy you are building through her life. In Jesus' name, amen. My friend, maybe what you are beginning looks very, very small today.

[00:58:10] Maybe it's one sentence. A paragraph. Perhaps it's a video. Perhaps it's a product. One idea you have finally decided to stop ignoring. Did you know Poppy? You know that she started with this silly idea of apple cider vinegar type of refreshment called Mother.

[00:58:40] And it evolved into a $3 billion business. Approximately. They told her it was silly. I love that. That's great. Please do not confuse small with insignificant. Don't do that. You have lived. You have sacrificed.

[00:59:07] You have learned lessons no classroom could have taught you. So you're not starting from nothing. You're starting from everything life has taught you. Whatever you overcame. Whatever. It could be a recipe. Your great, great, great, great grandmother taught you. Or your great, great grandmother. Your mother. Something you guys love to bake together. We don't know what it is.

[00:59:36] And to the woman watching another mother begin, be gentle with her beginning. Encourage her. Share what genuinely moves you. Support her when you can. You may never know what she had to overcome just to press post. You may never know what your kindness helped her believe about herself again. Trust me.

[01:00:07] I've been, I've fallen off. I built a huge social media and I let it go. I let it go because I needed to. I needed to let that audience go. That was not my true audience. I wasn't being who God created me to be. I was not. But it's another podcast. But I wasn't who I was called to be. And I let it go. And then something happened in my life and I needed to heal and I needed to be with my family.

[01:00:34] And then the prayer was answered. And that's how we came up with the podcast. And then we went over there. Kind of left social media altogether. Listen, God knows. God knows what's inside you. God knows what your gifts, what you're called to do. And sometimes the blessing he placed inside a mother only needs one person to look at what

[01:01:02] she's building and say, I see it too. I see it too. That is so good. That is so good. Do not give up. You keep going. Mama, pick up the phone. Write that first sentence. Share what God placed on your heart. Because it may look like a small beginning to everyone else. Who cares?

[01:01:27] It may be the moment something inside you finally stands back up. If this conversation reminded you of a mother who's out there building something, maybe there's no momentum yet. Maybe there's one or two likes. Maybe there's one or two shares. Maybe it's a YouTube. Who knows? Maybe some of them have zero views.

[01:01:57] Send this to her. Then do something even more meaningful. Encourage her. Share her work. Buy her a coffee if you're able to. If she's on that platform. Let her know that someone sees her trying. If Becoming Unshakeable has become a part of your week, follow the Entrepreneur Parents podcast and leave a five-star rating and a kind review.
