🎙️EP 173 The Mindset That Builds Empires!
"Alexander the Great; The Boy Who Dreamed Bigger Than Empires"
(Great Thinkers Series - Presidents and World Leaders)
ENTREPRENEUR KIDS LEGACY SHOW
Hosted by Daniel and Destiny
In this powerful, screen-free episode of the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show, hosts Daniel and Destiny rewind the clock to ancient Macedonia to meet one of history's boldest dreamers, Alexander the Great.
Before he became one of the most legendary conquerors in the world, Alexander was just a curious young boy with a huge imagination, a strong belief in purpose, and an unshakable determination to lead. Guided by his famous teacher Aristotle, Alexander learned lessons about wisdom, strategy, and vision that shaped the course of history.
But what made Alexander truly great wasn't just his victories, it was his mindset. He believed nothing was impossible, and that faith, courage, and preparation could move mountains. In this episode, Daniel and Destiny show kids and families how Alexander's story reveals that real leadership starts with belief and that every great dream begins with vision, discipline, and heart.
Daniel and Destiny remind kids that God calls each of us to lead in our own way. Whether it's helping a sibling, building a business, or creating something new, the greatest victories happen when we use our gifts to make the world better.
They'll learn that Alexander wasn't born powerful, he became great through learning, perseverance, and belief. The same spirit that fueled his dreams lives inside every child willing to lead with courage and faith.

[00:00:02] You can do anything! We all have a God-given destiny. Never let negative thoughts or people tell you you can't be great, because you will feel for me and wonderfully made. There's greatness inside all of us, but greatness doesn't happen. It takes boldness, courage, and leadership. Welcome to the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show, where we think big, big broadly, and make amazing things happen.
[00:00:32] I'm Destiny. I'm Daniel. We challenge you to step into your future, take action, and create a legacy that lasts. Let's go! Good day, courageous friends. I'm your business buddy, Daniel. Welcome back to the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show. Hi, sweet friends. It's your darling, Destiny here. Before we start, how is your week going?
[00:01:01] I think I see a lot of people. Did you try last week's Legacy Challenge? Remember how loved, courageous, and brave you are? Yes, when you remember that you're already building a legacy of wisdom. And today's episode is so special, because it's our final lesson in our Great Minds series.
[00:01:30] And next week, we get to jump into more Entrepreneur Stories. Oh wow, and are we ending in a big lesson? We're talking about a boy who grew up to conquer almost the entire known world. That's right, but along the way, he learned something even bigger. And you're about to find out, friends.
[00:01:56] Ooh, does this mean it's story time? Because I can't wait to hear it. You got it. Let's go way, way back in time. But I'm going to include you guys and my brother again. Three, two, one.
[00:02:14] Thank you for your help. We made it. Okay, listen up, friends. Here we go.
[00:02:40] Once upon a time, more than 2,300 years ago, a baby boy was born in Macedonia. His name was Alexander. And one day, the world would call him Alexander the Great. He wasn't just any kind of kid.
[00:03:00] His father was King Philip II, who was a brilliant warrior who turned Macedonia into one of the strongest nations in Greece. Philip taught Alexander discipline and strategy, how to lead with both brains and bravery. He often said strength means nothing without wisdom.
[00:03:27] And Alexander's mother, Queen Olympias, was one of the strongest women of her time. She told him stories of heroes and courage, reminding him that he had purpose for his life. And his calling was bigger than himself. Ooh, that's right. She encouraged him to be brave, to learn, and lead with heart.
[00:03:55] Yes, it shows how powerful a parent's words can be. The faith and love they speak can become the dreams their children chase. That's right. And by the time he was 10 years old, Alexander did something unbelievable. He tamed a wild horse. No one else could ride. Can you imagine? Can you imagine?
[00:04:21] He looked it in the eyes and did his thing that no one else could. And then, that horse turned out to be his best friend. Best friend for life. And you know what he named it? Beautiful, strong horse. He named this beautiful horse, Yousef. Wow, that's a cool name. It sounds so powerful.
[00:04:47] When he was a little older, his father hired a great teacher, the great philosopher, Aristotle, who would change his son's life. Ooh, Aristotle, we talked about him. Aristotle taught him science, medicine, philosophy, and even how to ask questions that lead to truth.
[00:05:14] He taught Alexander to love learning, to search for wisdom in everything. That's what Alexander just fight with swords. They lead with knowledge and understanding. Listen to this. At just 16 years old, Alexander was already trusted to rule Macedonia.
[00:05:42] During the time, his father was away at war. He even led troops to defend his kingdom and founded his first city. This showing that great leaders start young when they use their gifts well. Now, friends, as he grew up, Alexander faced massive battles against huge armies. At 20, he became king when his father had passed.
[00:06:10] And almost immediately fought the Persian Empire. The biggest empire. At the Battle of Issus and later at Galgamala, his smaller army beat thousands of more soldiers. Through brilliant strategy and bravery. Some enemies used war elephants and towers. Things his men have never seen before. Imagine it, friends. Whoa!
[00:06:41] That's wild! But Alexander didn't hide in the back. He rode Bucephalus straight into battle, leading for the front lines. That's why his soldiers followed him and friends. It didn't end there. He also fought incredible battles at sea, like the famous siege of Tyre. Tyre was an island city surrounded by water and tall walls.
[00:07:09] People said it was impossible to capture. But Alexander refused to quit. He built a giant road across the ocean and gathered ships to attack both land and sea. After months of courage, his plan worked. Let me guess. Tyre fell. It sure did, destiny and friends. That battle proved something amazing.
[00:07:39] Great leaders don't just fight harder. They think smarter. He crossed deserts where water was almost gone. Climbed icy mountains and even got injured, but never gave up. Where did that kind of COVIDs come from? Maybe from believing great leaders face fear head on. And from the training his father and teacher gave him.
[00:08:06] But today we know real COVIDs comes from something even stronger. Faith God makes us brave when we trust him more than our fear. Like Joshua 1, 9 says, Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. That's right, destiny.
[00:08:32] Even though Alexander didn't know the one true God the way we do, his bravery shows how powerful courage can be when used for good. Before Alexander passed away, he shared three special wishes with the people around him. He asked that the best doctors walked beside him.
[00:08:56] This showed that even the best doctors were powerless when his time was up. And today we know God gives life and decides time on earth. Second wish, he wanted his treasures spread along the road beside him. To show that the things we collect don't matter as much as the hearts we touch. The wealth will remain on earth.
[00:09:25] And then he asked his hands to be shown open and empty. To remind everyone that we come to this world with nothing in our hands. And that we leave with nothing. Friends, what truly counts is love, kindness and faith. This was his final message to the world. That real greatness isn't about power or gold.
[00:09:51] Because it's about what you give, who you help, and the love you leave behind. And maybe that's the most beautiful thing about Alexander's story. That at the end of all his battles, he discovered the greatest victory is a loving heart. Even the Bible tells us, Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6.21 Whoa, what a story!
[00:10:20] What a story! That sure was a story, wasn't it? It's always a great lesson. Speaking of lesson, what did we learn from the story? Alexander's story reminds us that being great isn't about fame or followers. It's about how we use what we learn. When God gives you knowledge, courage, or creativity, it's not to show off. It's to lift others up.
[00:10:50] He had every gift. A strong mind, brave heart, and big dreams. The most important part that we can't miss is love. So let's remember, real leaders use their strength, the soul, and the wisdom to make others stronger. Yappity-dappity! Doop-duop-duop-bamers today!
[00:11:19] Yes, business leaders travel the world and build companies. But the great ones also build people up. They help families, create jobs, and give to those in need. And just like Alexander used strategy and vision, entrepreneurs need plans and courage too. But with a servant heart. Because our goal isn't to conquer the world.
[00:11:49] It's to change it for good. That's right! Make heaven crowded! Yeah, you said it, Destiny. Do you know what time it is now? Of course I do! It's time for the Legacy. Lightning fun facts round!
[00:12:28] Alexander's famous teacher. Is it A. Bucephalus? Is it B. Einstein? Or is it C. Aristotle? Or could it be D?
[00:12:55] Okay friends, run down to the show notes to see if your answer is right. And while you're there, leave your favorite in the review section on the platform you're listening to. And don't forget to leave your parents' Instagram handle. That way we can message you so you can be our next Legacy Leader of the Month. So do that quickly friends!

Drawing, helping, building, writing, whatever it is. And do something kind with it. Maybe make a card for someone lonely. Help your parents. Or pray for a friend who's holding.
[00:13:52] That's a great challenge, Destiny. Because every time you lead with love, you build a legacy that lasts longer than any empire. Remember, the greatest mind of all is one filled with faith, love, and wisdom from God. Next week we start a brand new Entrepreneur Series.
