🎙️EP 147 How Great Leaders Get Back on Course!
ENTREPRENEUR KIDS LEGACY SHOW
Hosted by Daniel and Destiny
What happens when life doesn't go exactly as planned? Maybe you missed a day of something you promised yourself you would do. Maybe you made a choice you wish you had made differently. Maybe you stopped practicing, forgot to pray, spoke unkindly, or simply realized, somewhere along the way, you drifted a little off course.
Does that mean you give up? Absolutely not. You right the ship. ⛵
In this powerful Legacy Short from the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show, Daniel and Destiny introduce young listeners to one of the most important mindsets a future leader can learn: You don't have to be perfect to keep moving forward.
When something doesn't go the way you hoped, it can become a lesson. You learn. You adjust. You grow. And you steer yourself back toward what is good. Because great leaders aren't people who never drift.
Great leaders learn how to get back on course.
📖 FAITH MOMENT: GREAT LEADERS GET BACK UP
Proverbs 24:16 teaches us:
"Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again."
Think about that. The Bible doesn't tell us that faithful people will walk through life without ever falling. It tells us what they do when they fall. They rise again. That is such an important difference. Faithfulness isn't about never having a difficult day. Courage isn't about getting everything right the first time. Strength isn't about pretending you never need to change direction.
Sometimes courage says: "I need to try that again." Sometimes character says: "I need to make that right."
Sometimes wisdom says: "That choice isn't taking me where I want to go."
And sometimes faith simply says: "God, help me begin again."
✍️ LEGACY LEADER JOURNAL MOMENT
Future leaders, grab your Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Journal and something to write with. And if you don't know how to write yet, you can draw your answer just like our friends Leo and Lilly the Lions. 🦁✨
Today's question is:
"Where did I drift a little this week… and what is one way I can right my ship today?"
What is my next right choice?
Then take that step. Because even a very small turn of the wheel, can begin changing the direction of a ship.
🌟 FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT
Dear Future Leader, There will be days in your life when the wind changes.
You may start out sailing in one direction, and suddenly realize you've drifted somewhere you never intended to go. When that happens, don't give up on the journey. Look at where you are. Remember where you're going. Take what the moment has taught you, and gently turn the wheel.

[00:00:02] You can do anything! We all have a God given destiny. Never let negative thoughts or people tell you you can't be great. Cause you were fearfully and wonderfully made. There's greatness inside all of us. But greatness doesn't happen. It takes boldness, courage and leadership. Welcome to the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show. Where we think big, big boldly and make amazing things happen.
[00:00:32] I'm Destiny. I'm Daniel. We challenge you to step into your future, take action and create a legacy that lasts. Let's go! One peaceful afternoon, a mother and her little girl Jane were sailing across a quiet lake. The breeze was gentle. The water sparkled like tiny little diamonds beneath the sunshine.
[00:01:03] Everything felt peaceful. The little girl watched the sail dancing in the wind. She looked at the shoreline, then looked back at her mother. Mommy, I think we're drifting. Mom looked around, smiled, and gently put her hand on the steering wheel. She didn't panic. She didn't get frustrated. She simply made a small adjustment.
[00:01:32] Just then, a beautiful butterfly floated gently across the water. It danced beside the little sailboat for a moment before drifting toward the shoreline. My darling girl! That's what good captains do! They don't expect the wind to blow perfectly every day. They simply keep adjusting until they're heading in the right direction again.
[00:01:58] Friends, life is a lot like sailing. Sometimes we drift. But drifting doesn't mean we're lost. It simply means it's time to right the ship. Welcome back to the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show!
[00:02:18] Hello, courageous captains! I'm Destiny, your joy-building and heart-encausing princess friend! Thank you for joining us for another Legacy Shorts adventure! Together we are planting seeds that build future leaders! So, conversations impact!
[00:02:46] Let's see! Your future-building and character growing buddy! Today's Legacy Short is about something every great leader learns sooner or later. How to right the ship! That means when you make a mistake, miss a day, or drift a little off course, you don't give up.
[00:03:11] You make one small adjustment and keep moving forward. We don't quit! We right the ship! Because one little mistake, we say lesson in our family. Doesn't have to become a big one! Miss one day of reading? Don't miss ten! Forget to pray yesterday? Pray today! Have a rough morning? Choose kindness this afternoon?
[00:03:41] One small adjustment. And you keep sailing! When you make a mistake, you wish you can take back? One small adjustment. Keep sailing! Never give up! Never ever stop! Keep sailing! Yes, sometimes people think one mistake means they fail, then they stop. But that's not how strong leaders think.
[00:04:09] Strong leaders know that one difficult moment doesn't decide the rest of their story. One choice never decides your future. Thousands of little choices do. And every new choice is another chance to head in the right direction. That's right, friends. Sometimes we all drift a little. We forget. We get distracted. We make mistakes. Oh, I mean lessons.
[00:04:37] But all jokes aside, we don't quit. We don't give up. We don't stay stuck. We gently right the ship. Maybe you missed one workout. Start again tomorrow. Don't quit. Maybe you forgot to practice. Well, practice today. Maybe you forgot to have that important conversation. Talk today. Or perhaps you spoke unkindly. Go make it right.
[00:05:08] Every time you choose to begin again, you're going stronger than before. Listen, friends. The Bible says in Proverbs 24, verse 16, Do the races falls seven times. They rise again. Up, up, up, up. Did you notice something beautiful, friends? The Bible doesn't say faithful people never fail.
[00:05:38] It says they get back up. That's right, Destiny. That's very powerful. Imagine you're putting together a big, huge puzzle. You accidentally place a few pieces in the wrong spot. Do you throw the whole puzzle away? Of course not, friends. Never do that. You simply move the pieces and you keep building. That's right.
[00:06:06] Life works the exact same way. Mistakes don't mean your story is over. Sometimes they're simply part of learning. Back to the story, friends. The next day, the mother and her little daughter, Jane, sailed again. This time, the wind blew from a different direction. The sailboat drifted once more. The little girl smiled.
[00:06:36] She reached toward the steering wheel, made one small adjustment, and giggled. I know what to do now. Her mother smiled and said, What do good captains do? The little girl smiled proudly. They don't quit. They right the ship. The mother smiled, gave her daughter a hug,
[00:07:02] and together they watched a beautiful butterfly floating across the lake once again. Friends! Every great captain, every great leader, and every person who accomplished something meaningful has drifted at times. The difference is, they kept steering back towards what was good. Friends, did you know,
[00:07:30] when you learn from a mistake, instead of giving up, your brain becomes even better at solving problems next time. That's right. Mistakes, I mean lessons, can become some of our greatest teachers, if we're willing to keep learning from them. That's why in our house, we don't really focus on the mistakes. We focus more on the lessons.
[00:07:58] You can learn great things from mistakes. There's so much value. There's so much gold in them. Once you've learned important lessons, you have the blueprint to help others. Okay, friends, do you know what time it is? Say it with me. It's time for the Legacy Leader Journey
[00:08:37] and something to write with. It's time to bring your brave thoughts. And if you don't know how to write yet, draw your answer. Like our friend you-know-who, Lily the Lion, she draws all her ideas and plans. Remember, there are answers here. This is your journey. And today's journal question is this. Where did I drift a little this week?
[00:09:06] And what is one way I can write my ship today? Maybe you'll choose to pray. Read one more page. Apologize to someone. I know it's sometimes hard. Anyway, it will help you later in life. You have to write your ship. Or maybe you choose to help someone. Or begin something again. Or tell the truth about something.
[00:09:34] Or finish something you after yourselves. Every small step matters. That's right. Every small step matters. A good captain doesn't spend the whole journey wishing the wind had been different. A good captain keeps gently steering back toward the destination. One small adjustment. One faithful choice.
[00:10:03] One day at a time. Because your future isn't saved by the moment you drift. It's saved. Friends, if this legacy so encouraged you today, there's another future leader who's learning to keep going. Fright of you.
[00:10:33] On drifts, sometimes, what matters most is that we don't stay there. We keep going. We choose to grow. We choose to learn. Remember, we become the leaders that's to be. Now, say we're perfect. But when I drift,
[00:11:02] I can write the... Your turn, friends. The journey... Never forget this. You are the hero of your story. You are the hero of your story. And your story is...
[00:11:36] For listening to this episode, show up. That's why I hope you had a... That's what I was going to sell life. Life.
[00:12:09] I love you so much. Great surprise outro for me. And don't forget to share it with someone you really blessed. I love you so much. Don't forget to tell your legacy
