🎙️ EP 177 Fail Forward Into Your Greatness!
He Failed. He Lost. He Got Back Up… and Led a Nation. 🇺🇸
The Story of President Abraham Lincoln
(Great Thinkers Series - Presidents, World Leaders & Changers)
ENTREPRENEUR KIDS LEGACY SHOW
Hosted by Daniel and Destiny
In this inspiring episode of the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show, Daniel and Destiny share the incredible story of a man who failed again and again, not once, not twice, but eight times before finally becoming one of the greatest leaders in history.
Abraham Lincoln didn't come from money, he didn't have powerful connections, and he didn't grow up with any special advantages. But what he did have was grit, perseverance, and a belief that setbacks don't define your future, your decisions do.
Through Lincoln's journey, your kids will learn that failure isn't the end, it's part of the path to success.
This episode reminds young dreamers that you don't have to be born into greatness to do something great… you just have to keep getting back up.

[00:00:02] You can do anything We all have a God given destiny Never let negative thoughts or people tell you you can't be great Cause you were fearfully and wonderfully made There's greatness inside all of us But greatness doesn't happen It takes boldness, current and leadership Welcome to the Entrepreneur Kids Legacy Show
[00:00:27] Where we think big, big broadly and make amazing things happen I'm Destiny I'm Daniel We challenge you to step into your future Take action And create a legacy that lasts Let's go! It's such a pleasure to be with you again Legacy Leaders We miss you so much Our royal friends
[00:00:54] It's a little princess named Destiny here And today's episode might make you laugh Maybe cry a little But mostly it's gonna make you feel like you can do anything And I'm your co-host and history king in training, Daniel So let's talk about something real for a second
[00:01:18] Have you ever had a bad grade, lost a game, or even felt like quitting? Yep, I felt that sometimes And I think our guests felt that too And guess what? So did today's hero He lost over and over again He got made fun of He failed We call it valuable learning lessons
[00:01:45] He learned those lessons more than some people do in a lifetime But he didn't give up And because of that He became one of the most loved presidents In the history of the United States Did you guess who it is? Abraham Lincoln When the world says you can't God might be whispering you were born to
[00:02:12] Okay, let's go way back That's your cue, Destiny Okay, picture this It's 1809 And you wake up in a tiny log cabin In the woods of Kentucky You got one pair of shoes Your house is made of logs And school? That's a sometimes thing
[00:02:42] Not an everyday thing That was young Abraham Lincoln He didn't grow up rich He didn't grow up famous He grew up curious, kind, and determined That's right, Destiny Sadly, his mom went to be with the Lord when he was just nine years old And later, his baby sister passed too Lincoln felt like giving up That's so sad
[00:03:11] It really is, but guess what? Instead of being a victim or letting it get to him He turned to books He would walk miles just to borrow a book No library cards No Amazon delivery Just pure determination He read the Bible He read science And he started giving speeches Like hilarious ones
[00:03:40] He would make people laugh And think at the same time Wow, what a combo, Daniel Let's be honest He had a tall hat And tall idea By the time he was in his twenties He was working odd jobs And running for office But he was losing over and over and over again Lincoln lost eight elections in his life
[00:04:08] And once his business failed so badly He ended up in debt for years That basically means you have no money And owe people lots of money But God had a plan In 1860 Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of the United States Wahoo! You can say that again, Daniel
[00:04:37] Wahoo! And what happened during his presidency? Only one of the hardest times in American history Oh no! The Civil War! Goodness gracious! But Lincoln, he led with courage He believed that all people were created equal Because that's what the Bible says And in 1863
[00:05:06] He signed something called the Emancipation Emancipation Emancipation I'll say that one last time Emancipation Proclamation That's a mouthful, isn't it Destiny? Yeah! Emancipation Proclamation That's a mouthful You're right Daniel, so what does that mean? I know
[00:05:35] Do you want me to tell you? Yes, please It was a law that helped free Enslaved people across the country He didn't do it to be light He did it because it was right And when he was tired, discouraged, or even afraid He prayed He asked God for wisdom He led with his heart Today he's remembered
[00:06:03] Not just as a president But as a freedom fighter A forgiver A legacy builder Oh, and one more powerful thing, friends Before Abraham Lincoln signed The Emancipation Proclamation He told his staff Listen carefully, guys If God gives us victory in this next battle I'll keep my promise to set people free
[00:06:31] Ooh, that's good, Daniel It is destiny And one day one He kept his promise He didn't just make history He made heaven smile, friends So what can we learn from Abraham Lincoln, friends? You don't have to be born into greatness You don't have to be perfect But you do have to keep going You don't always lead by winning
[00:07:01] You lead by doing the right thing Even when it's hard He failed Ahem Learned lessons, Daniel Yes, yes Learned lessons Again and again And again But God still used him To change history Yes, think, friends Maybe God wants to use you, too
[00:07:29] I got some exciting news, friends Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Destiny? Legacy, lightning, fun facts round Dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun Question of the day
[00:07:56] What number president was Abraham Lincoln? A. 10th president B. 16th president C. 21st president Or could it be 100th president? In the show notes And while you're there
[00:08:28] Don't forget to leave your parents' info So you could be chose As the very next legacy leader Here's a tactical legacy challenge Of the world Now, step two Ask yourself
[00:08:57] What can I learn from it? And step three Try again Speak life over it And pray for boldness And today We have a bonus challenge, friends Write your own emancipation declaration A paper where you say What fear or excuse you're letting go of So you can grow in courage Need an example?
[00:09:25] Maybe your declaration says I'm letting go of being afraid To speak up in my class Or I'm letting go of the lie That I'm not good at math Or even I'm letting go of the fear Of trying something new Because I was born to lead Now come up with your own Hang it where you can see it, friend Speak it out loud every morning Freedom isn't just about the world changing
[00:09:55] It's about you choosing to be brave Abraham Lincoln didn't quit when it got hard He rose up We shouldn't quit when it gets hard Remember that We need to rise up Yes, we do We really, really do So next time you feel like you're failing Ahem Learning lessons Remember this God might be using that very moment
