Why We Created a FREE Family Conversation Starter Game for Families
A while back, we started noticing something that honestly bothered us. Even when families were sitting together physically, many times they weren’t really together. People were scrolling on their phones. Kids were distracted. Parents were answering texts. Everyone was technically “there” but not really there. And truthfully, we caught ourselves doing it too.
That’s when our family made a simple decision: no phones or devices at the dinner table.
(Okay… most of the time 😂)
But once we removed the distractions, we noticed something else. Sometimes families genuinely want deeper conversations, they just don’t know how to start them.
That realization became the inspiration behind our Free Conversation Starter Game. At first, we created it just for our own family because we wanted our kids talking more, laughing more, thinking more, and opening up more. And honestly, it completely changed the atmosphere at our table. Instead of conversations like:
“How was school?”, “Good.”
We started hearing things like:
“What’s your biggest dream?”
“What would you invent if you could create anything?”
“What’s something hard you learned from?”
“What kind of person do you want to become someday?”
Those conversations matter.
One of the biggest things we’ve realized as parents is this: strong communication doesn’t magically appear when kids become adults. It’s built slowly through thousands of little conversations over time. And in today’s world, real conversations are becoming harder to find.
Screens are everywhere. Notifications are nonstop. Attention is constantly being pulled in different directions. Families are busy, exhausted, and distracted. Before you know it, an entire evening can pass without anyone really connecting.
That’s why we wanted to create something simple, fun, and easy to use anywhere.
The game includes over 300 conversation starting questions. You spin the arrow, it lands on someone, and they answer the question. That’s it. Simple. Fun. But surprisingly powerful.
Some questions are funny. Some are thoughtful. Some create hilarious moments. Others open the door to conversations you probably wouldn’t have had otherwise.
And the best part is that it works almost anywhere: around the dinner table, during road trips, while waiting at restaurants, on vacations, around the campfire, or during family game night. Because the goal was never just to create another app or another game. The goal was to help families reconnect. To help kids feel heard. To help families laugh together again. To create moments where conversations happen naturally instead of feeling forced.
Once we saw how much our own family loved using it, we knew we wanted to give it away for free so other families could experience it too. Because in a world fighting harder than ever for our attention, real connection has become one of the most valuable things we can protect.
And sometimes all it takes is one great question to start a conversation that matters.
